Endoscopic ultrasonography findings of pancreatic parenchyma for predicting subtypes of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms

چکیده
The subtypes of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) are closely associated with the clinicopathological behavior and recurrence after surgical resection. However, there no established non-invasive methods to confirm IPMNs without surgery. aim this study is predict using findings endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). Sixty-two consecutive patients who underwent EUS before surgery were retrospectively reviewed. following analyzed their relationship was evaluated: diameter main pancreatic duct, cyst size, number cysts, height mural nodule, early chronic pancreatitis (CP) finding, fatty parenchyma atrophic parenchyma. as follows: gastric (G)-type 38 (61%), intestinal (I) -type 14 (23%) pancreatobiliary (PB) 10 (16%). Fatty significantly G-type (P < 0.0001). Early CP ?2 correlated I-type PB-type or degeneration in comparison other Using above characteristic findings, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy 63%, 92% 74%, respectively, G-type, 57%, 96% 87% I-type, 90%, 94% PB-type. evaluation especially focused on parenchyma, has potential IPMN.

The appropriate management for patients with multifocal branch-duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) of the pancreas involving the entire pancreatic gland remains unclear. We present a 66-year-old woman who underwent pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy for a branch-duct intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma demonstrating a grape-like multilocular cyst, 35 mm in diamete...

BACKGROUND/AIMS Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) are neoplasms of the pancreatic duct epithelium characterized by intraductal papillary growth and thick mucin secretion. Quantities of mucin fill the main and/or branches of pancreatic ducts and cause ductal dilatation. This review encompasses IPMNs, including symptoms, diagnosis, management, and prognosis. METHODS A Pubmed data...

Background In the last decades, the attention to Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms (IPMNs) has risen due to the increase of their incidental diagnosis. The aim of the present study was to evaluate which factors influenced survival in population affected by intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms. Methods A retrospective study on a prospective database of 357 patients observed at our Ins...
